Scoring
Scoring will be based on the point quota system, individual point quotas are calculated based on the player’s handicap index. (Minimum Quota of 3 points) If a player does not have an index, a calculation will be made based on the player’s scoring history for 18 holes. All individual and team quotas will be adjusted weekly based on the results of their play. All point quotas will be scored and adjusted as follows: *League Minimum Quota is 3 points.
Eagle: 4 Points
Birdie: 3 Points
Par: 2 Points
Bogey: 1 Point
Double Bogey: 0 Points (pick up ball)
1. Finish even or within a half point plus or minus, quota remains the same.
2. Finish at plus 1 to plus 4.5, quota will increase by one half point.
3. Finish at plus 5 ~ or more, quota will increase by 1 point.
4. Finish at minus 1 or more, quota will decrease by one half point.
*Adjusted quota will apply the next week.
The team maximum for any match is 3 points + bonus points earned per night. Each team member can earn one point for each individual match. The Team can earn one point for the team combined match.
Individual bonus points may be earned by:
Scoring 1 to 4.5 points above quota = one half point
Scoring 5 or more points above quota = one full point
*Total points earned determine overall team standings
The following rule change is in effect for this year. Now players can earn the needed match points toward season totals by playing each player on the opposing team individually and as a team. If you can’t get a sub from one of our other shotgun leagues you will play the other team as a single under these conditions:
If a team plays a match with no opponents on a given night, they must play at least 5 holes to earn the automatic 3 points and are not eligible for any bonus points. If only one player of 4 is present, 5 holes must be completed, but only 2 points can be earned with no bonus points available. (One individual point and the team point only)
Report to the pro shop prior to the match so a staff member can make the necessary changes to the score card. The league member will play using the quota established during your regular night.
If you normally play the white tees and are subbing on the blues you will be minus 1(-1) off your normal quota, unless at the league minimum of 3 points. If you normally play the blue tees and are subbing from the whites you will be plus 1(+1) over your normal points.
During the playoffs subs will not be allowed
Must be a member of one of the Overlook's shotgun leagues to be eligible to sub.
The pace of play during league rounds should be 2.5 hours or less. Please keep up with the group in front of you. In order to maintain this pace the following guidelines should be followed:
1. All league players should arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time to ensure they are at their assigned starting tee.
2. Do not tee off from your assigned first tee until the starter has signaled with a single blast from the air horn
3. If you are not playing for at least a bogey, pick up and score zero points for that hole
Teams that repeatedly play at more than a 2.5 hour pace will have 2 points deducted from their overall standings each week they are behind. Any slow play should be reported to the pro shop ASAP or upon completion of the round.
